| Each year, Grade 9 students in Ontario are mandated to participate in ‘Take your kids to work day’, in an attempt to increase their understanding of the importance of staying in school and in essence ‘step into their future’ – but up to one-quarter of students cannot participate because of lack of access to individuals in relevant careers. We organize and schedule the full-day exposure and experiential visits with SMH scientists and labs, as an opportunity for Grade 9 students (starting with students registered with Pathways Regent Park, and students attending low LOI schools). |
