About St. Michael’s Hospital Research Student Association

We are committed to representing the research students at St. Michael’s Hospital by promoting collaboration amongst our community, advocating for student needs, and working cooperatively with administrative and executive bodies with the goal of enriching the learning experience.

In order to promote communication amongst the hospital community, the association organizes monthly socials (along with Research Facilities) and game nights which allow students to meet peers from other departments, as well as staff, scientists and faculty members. The association also supports many charitable organizations.

In the last year, it fundraised for Movember (i.e., creating a fundraising group online, bake sales, a foosball tournament, etc.), held a winter clothing drive for the Rotary Club, put together a St. Michael’s Hospital team for the Sporting Life 10k run for Camp Oochigeas, and made dinner for the families staying at Ronald McDonald House. The association also started a Career Seminar Series. These seminars provide graduate students with a real and candid view of careers in academia, medicine and industry.
