Wondering whether your product should be patented before launching that new app, computer model, database, or website? Curious about what is involved in patenting a software or computer-related invention? Interested in the controversy about whether software and business method inventions should be patentable? Tired of not knowing a patent claim from a statement of claim? If so, please join us for a focused discussion about the role of IT patents in the healthcare setting. We will discuss the general process for seeking patent protection, as well as special topics of importance to those who develop software or deal with software developers. We will provide an update on Canadian jurisprudence in the wake of the 2011 Amazon 1-click patent decision and the current climate for patenting software and business method inventions in Canada.
