Ann Stewart is a family physician at St. Michael’s Family Health Team, based at the Health Centre at 410. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at University of Toronto. Her research interests focus on delivering quality patient-centred care to medically complex people living in the community. She is the former Medical Director of Casey House and worked on several studies describing the complex problems faced by HIV+ patients. At the moment she is working with a team investigating the impact of these complex patients on the broader health care system, clarifying the costs of their care and the impact of a new day health program, which includes physiotherapy, on their health. She is also interested in developing an approach for family physicians to treat patients with Hepatitis C.
